Are they still saying that 50% of all marriages end in divorce? Because I was thinking about that, and wondering what it is that makes or breaks a marriage. Cuz that's what I do when I'm supposed to be working--I think about really deep things. Okay, not really. Usually, I think about Cheetos and Twitter. But today I was wondering about marriage. And why I like my husband so much.
And I really do like him a lot.
So anyway...I kept on wondering. And then I wondered about all my favorite couples on TV and in the movies. We rarely get to see their happily ever after, after all. And if 50% don't make it--which ones don't?
Clair and Cliff Huxtable?
Baby and Johnny?
Jack and Annie?
Monica and Chander?
Han and Leia
According to the stats...only three of these couples stay together. Which three do you think make it to forever?
I really want the Huxtables to stay together. Don't really care as much about the rest of them but I really wanted the Huxtables as my next door neighbors when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I was like that with the Bradys.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Huxtables. We know Keanu and Sandra didn't stay together. In "Speed 2" she was with another man!
ReplyDeleteI have always pretended that Speed 2 never happened. I think Sandra Bullock does too.
ReplyDeleteBert and Ernie have been together what 40 years?? I'd definitely vote for the Huxtables, and I think Han and Leia actually do stay together if you count the ongoing Star Wars saga books. That means Monica and Chandler don't make it which is sad since they adopted twins. The others, well, pretty much a given those are not permanent relationships.
ReplyDeleteThe Huxtables, Baby and Johnny, and Burt and Ernie.
ReplyDeleteMonica and Chandler make it for a while but they finally break up because Chandler was really in love with Joey and Monica couldn't hide her head in the sand anymore. LOL
The Huxtables, definitely. Monica and Chandler, maybe. Johnny and Baby, possibly. It's hard to say between Johnny and Baby and Han and Leia.
ReplyDeleteI really don't see Baby staying with Johnny. I mean, wasn't she really young when she met him? Like in her late teens?
ReplyDeleteHan and Leia, definitely. Huxtables, definitely. Bert and Ernie, sure. Because who'd else would hook up with them? :) Not much to choose from on Sesame Street.
Bert and Ernie for def. The Huxtables for def. And...I dunno, Han and Leia? Jack and Annie don't stay together, I could never see *anyone* tolerating Monica for that long and I think Baby has a rude awakening coming in regards to Johnny's sexuality.
ReplyDeleteI say the Huxtables, as well as Bert/Ernie. And maybe Han and Leia. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis has been a really fun thread. I'm giggling at every thread.
ReplyDelete(and I am still in denial about Speed 2)
I'm going with the Huxtables, Monica and Chandler, and Han and Leia. (Bert and Ernie will be together forever, but I refuse to think of them as anything other than best friends, and the best of friends are always together.) Baby and Johnny were doomed from the start, and he knows it even if she can't see the truth. Keanu and Sandra? That was just a 'we're going to die' fling, and those never work. =o)
ReplyDeleteHan and Leia, definitely. Huxtables, definitely. Bert and Ernie,
ReplyDeleteMonica's way too high maintenance and neurotic for any man-even Chandler.
Huxtables, Hans and Lela, and Bert and Ernie.
ReplyDeleteMonica and Chandler? Would you want to kiss someone who had their head up a turkey's ***? Both too immature.
Babe and Johnny? Just a summer fling...let it go.
Hmmm...I think the Huxtables, Baby & Johnny, and probably Monica & Chandler.
