Fake-n-no-bake

I'm getting a spray tan today! I love having color, but I'm old enough and smart enough to know that tanning beds and/or actual sun time isn't good for me. (Some sun is good for the vitamin D, but we're talking 15 mins a day to benefit, not hours by the pool.)

I wish spray tanning had been around when I was in high school. I used to hit the tanning beds and man, I regret that now.

Anyway, in a few hours I will be golden brown and slightly sticky. lol There's sugar in the spray tan mix. I'll be like a giant glazed donut.

Do you spray tan? If not, would you?

  1. I don't think I would spray tan. You have amazing skin, btw. I don'th think your high school days hurt you a bit.

  2. Have fun. Make it natural no orange please. Lucky me, no need to fake or bake. And 2 seconds in the sun and I'm even darker.

  3. I used to lay out, but nowadays the only sun I get is when I mow the lawn. I don't think I'd ever spray tan, and I know I wouldn't go to a tanning salon. I did try a spread on tan lotion once. We won't go into how bad that looked.

  4. I've never done it, and I think I'd be too wussy to. I am forever pasty and white. :)

  5. Wow, you make it sound so appealing--I mean, who doesn't want to be sticky? ROFL. Seriously, go have fun!! :D

  6. Heck yeah I spray tan! It's awesome!! Although, I still haven't reached the point where I can do it completely naked. I gotta leave the underwear on or else it's just too weird for me. Whenever we take a trip somewhere, I get a light spray on the day before so I'm feeling super fresh and hot for our vaca ;)

I've never done it and don't think I ever will. Of course, I've never done a tanning bed, either.

  9. I'm too old and fragile to be baking out on the beach or in a sunbed. I have been getting spray-tanned for a few years now and let me tell you, nothing looks better on fat that a tan! Okay, so I'm not HUGE, but the thighs that have snuck up beside me and the butt that came with having kids looks a lot better with a little tan ;o)

  10. I guess I've never much cared whether I had a tan or not...so I've never had a spray tan! I do try not to have obvious shade gradients, though -- I hate it when I put on a sleeveless top and the top half of my arms are five shades lighter than the bottom half. :-)

  11. I'd absolutely do it if there was a place to have it done in my local area.

  12. I don't know...

Do you do your face too?

  13. Yep, face and everything. (I only wear bottoms so I don't get a lot of tanlines.) I feel awesome!

  14. I'm white. The weird thing is my dad is Cherokee. (Cherokee on one side, Irish and Austrian on the other.) But most of my genes are Irish, and they stuck.

Whitey McWhite with a side order of Blanc Sauce.

Spray tans make me look like I was exposed to nuclear waste.

  15. I'm like Kwana. The first two weeks of spring I sunbathe for half an hour and got a tan that lasts until October. When I was younger it lasted all the year round but now I got paler during winter months.
Don't need spray myself but might try it sometime if it's the fun you promise :)

  16. I do the tanning beds before a tropical vacation, to avoid any burns. Its on the check list with Waxing, and highlights.
I refuse to spend that much money on a trip, and waste it nursing a burn.

Spray tan I'll use for a wedding or special event. And I have to hit it 2x in the Mystic tan booth to hit optimal non-orange bronzy coverage. Just the skivvies here, don't want to stain my purty bras!

  17. I never spray tanned-I think my daughter did. When she got married she made me do the stand up tanning booth but that's it. I used to lay out forever and wish now I hadn't cause I am getting those sunspots and damage from it. But who can tell us then??

  18. I remember the days of Sun-In in my hair and tanning beds. I don't know why I was so obsessed with looking like an Oompa Loompa. Orange hair, orange skin....and jelly shoes.
