Hot for Teacher...?

When I was a sophomore in high school, there was one teacher I and the other girls in class thought was mega-hot. He was married, but that didn't stop us from staring dreamily at him. We loved going to his class every day.

I think he taught social studies, but to be honest, I don't fully remember. haha. In fact, I can't remember very much about him--I don't remember his name at all. But I do remember he had dark hair and a great smile.

Obviously, nothing ever came of it. He remained a nice guy who kept a respectful distance with all of us (well, at least as far as I know!). But in a school full of stupid guys who liked to torture teen girls every chance they got, it was nice for us to see an older guy who gave us hope--hope that guys do grow up, do mature into responsible people, do become worthy of being drooled over.

Well, as I moved past high school into college and beyond, I realized I was a bit off the mark (many guys never grow up, haha). But still, it's funny how during your formative years, your perception of the ideal man can develop and linger with you.

So, 'fess up--have you ever crushed on a teacher? Tell, tell, tell!

  1. I guess I started young, seventh and eighth grade science. God, he had these stunning blue eyes and black hair. Is it any wonder science was my favorite subject? I think he knew we sat in the corner and crushed on him. He always smiled like he knew what was going on. Mr. G.

Did I happen to mention his oldest son was one grade behind me?

Then a weird thing happened a few years ago. I went home to visit my mom and dad. It was lunch time. My Dad asked if I wanted to go get a burger and a beer from the little bar down the street. I found myself sitting on a bar stool between my father and Mr. G. We were all drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. It was all very surreal.

  2. OMG that IS surreal...how crazy talk! How did he look as an older man--were you still taken in?

  3. My Am. History teacher was one of those. He was super nice, and really cute, junior year I think. I didn't have a crush on him so much as knew what I could get away with. Right after lunch, I wound up sleeping through his class A LOT. LOL But I passed with an A, so I got away with a lot. heheee

He used to tell us about his wife, and his honeymoon to Hawaii. He liked to let his students know he was human. I think that made him sexier then your average teacher.

  4. Ya know, now that I am older I don't mind a little gray hair. He had a bit of silver at his temples. He was just as attractive as my 14 year old self remembers. Maybe even more so. Nay, definitely more so now.

  5. Diana, it's amazing how things like that can be alluring--feeling like they're human!

    Lia, that's totally cool!!

  6. The only teacher-type person I can remember having a crush on was one of my professors in college. He taught College Comp 201, and even though he wasn't typically attractive, his looks combined with his awesome mind had me hooked. Aside from the crush thing, he was one of the best teachers I ever had.

Never on an actual teacher (I mostly had women teachers or much, much, much older male teachers), but there was this one substitute teacher that all the girls had a crush on. When he showed up in a class, it was bound to be a great day!

  8. B.E., smartness is very attractive...I totally get you on that!

Amanda, we had subs like that, too, where you looked forward to the real teacher being sick! LOL

  9. I have to say, "No."

Our school district must have hand picked the faculty based on non-crushworthiness.

  10. I escaped high school early. Plus I was such a nerd for so long...

BUT I did make up for it as a very young college student. I created a massive scandal at Oxford by dating a professor who was 11 years older than me. We were quite serious. The only reason we got away with it was different colleges. I was at Worcester and he was at Wadham.

See? And you thought I was dull.

Chrissy, a girl in my law school class married the assistant dean. It was quite the scandal...he had to step down as dean because one of his official duties was certifying the grades that each professor gave (professors graded blindly...they didn't necessarily know who was receiving the highest grade in the class until they matched up the names with the test numbers), and the girl he married was at the top of the class.

He's now a professor at a different law school.

And my SIL married her engineering professor. He's 12 years older than her...but they're divorced now.

Oh wait...he's 15 years older than her. My bad. Doesn't matter. They're still divorced.

  13. Gwen, that sucks. LOL

Chrissy, you are SO tawdry! You go girl!!

Amanda, that is QUITE scandalous, indeed!

OMGosh, I'm sure I did! I was a closet boy-crusher! I had a science teacher in Middle school. Mr. Wylie[I think, I remember thinking of the skater?, Paul Wylie?] Don't remember any high school crushes... college, no. Too many healthy young men around as well as too many bearded older men...not that there's anything wrong with beards or goatees or fu-manchus or even mustaches!!! I did like Dr. Holmes. He's married with about 10 children, shorter than I am and wears red converse tennis shoes with his tweedy slacks. He was an awesome teacher and I learned a ton from him. But no crush. He read the first ever MS I put together and commented on it, too. Told me I was trying to break into a field that was extremely hard to break into... What do you know? He was right. LOL. I like talking about men.

I remember in 8th grade, Janice Bayouth. She was about 23 and our music teacher. The guys used to call her Hot Lips.. Just about every guy in school had a thing for her. Definetly a hottie.
Then there was Miss McPhail.. another ultra hot teacher...

  17. Bethanne, that's hilarious that you were crushing on priests.

Michael--Hot Lips? ROFL--nice nickname for your teacher...

  18. Yes, oh my gersh yes. When I was a senior a new teacher came in to replace the science one they had to fire cuz a stuck up prep had gone and told the principal that he had looked down her shirt and said some innapropriate things to her. She was just miffed cuz she was failing and he didn't just pat her on the head and promise to up her grade so she wouldn't have to repeat the class next year. He was a good guy, we all like him. Anyway, the new guy was tall and had dark brown/black hair, his voice was deep and he had an awesome sense of humor. Oh, and his previous job before he got his teaching deree was a male stripper. I kid you not. My friends looked him up after hearing a rumor when they walked past the teachers lounge, google is such a wonderous tool. lol. So for the rest of the year we called him Mr. Hotpants behind his back. They had found a picture with him in pants that had the cheeks cut out. It was pretty amusing. We were nice though, we didn't spread it around or show people pics, we kept it our little secret. I don't remember his name, I didn't actually have him as a teacher, by the time he was there I had already gotten all the science credits that were required to graduate. Dammit, lol. My friend was a slacker so she had to repeat the class. Lucky brat. lol. We have a lot of "you had to have been there" stories.

  20. I had one grad student instructor in college who was totally hot. TOTALLY. HOT. And he was in the gym like 3 hours a day because working out "helped him think." I don't think I've ever been fitter in my life. I was in the gym ALL the time. LOL. The bummer was, his wife was totally cute too.

  21. I had two crushes. One was on my junior Social Studies teacher. Mr. Robinson (no. Not making that up) He wasn't good looking, but his voice would melt icecaps. And the other crush--Coach Griffith. I got Detention on purpose just so I could drool over him every day for an hour. And he liked me, so having detention wasn't that bad, except for the hole getting up early thing.

    ReplyDelete
  22. and that would be "whole" not "hole". Sheesh. That's what I get for commenting just after my workout. LOL Brain is not in gear.

  23. Jaded--OMG are you serious? A male stripper? How could they NOT know that would cause excitement among teen girls? And the teachers? ROFL

Dana--HILARIOUS. Isn't it funny what you do when trying to scope someone out?!

Mel, you got detention just to see your crush? That's a RIOT!!

  24. well, he was really, really hot. And like I said, he liked me. Lots of times I would sit on his desk and chat him up about the sports teams. I played bball and he was one of the football coaches and we would discuss which sport was better and why. I would tell him to play the boys I had a crush on instead of the losers. LOL Oh and he let me chew gum. hehe.

    Detention was fun.

  25. Um...when I taught college, I was the hot teacher. I have the student evaluations to prove it. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kristen, I TOTALLY don't doubt it. You're sooooooo like Mrs. Robinson.

Mel, did it make you feel more drawn to the teacher because he liked your company? I assume it was probably innocent, but I bet it made your crush even stronger!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm sure his attention didn't hurt matters. But it was all totally innocent. He was a great guy--fairly young, late 20s maybe early 30s. Just easy to talk to and fun to chat with. And did I mention he was HOT. Dark curls, dark brown eyes that were like chocolate fondue, dimples and a great smile.

Yeah, his being nice didn't hurt. LOL

  28. Freshman year British Lit professor. Do not remember his name, but I sat on the front row from Day 1. He was married and had the habit of twisting his wedding ring while lecturing.
