Most of us dread Monday because it symbolizes the end of our time off. The Monday morning alarm catapults us into the dredge of work, school, homework, responsiblity...blah, blah, blah.
Yesterday, I started to realize that I was already dreading the morning...and you know what that was doing to me? Making me bitchy. So instead of enjoying the beautiful Sunday afternoon, I was already cranking about Monday.
And isn't that exactly the opposite of how we should end our weekend?
So today, I'm looking at Monday as the beginning of a great week instead of the end of a fantastic weekend. Because everyone loves a good beginning...right?
Happy Monday, y'all! What do you plan to do to make today a good one?

Dude, it's Friday

Fridays can be Good Fridays, Black Fridays or Casual Fridays. (And occasionally Freaky Friday.) We Thank God It's Friday but hope it's not Friday the 13th. Friday was named in honor of the Norse goddess Frigg, but to the Romans the day was sacred to the goddess Venus, and was known as dies veneris.
In French, Friday is vendredi. In Italian: venerdi; Spanish: viernes; German: Freitag ; Dutch: vrijdag. How ever you say it, it still means most of us don't have to work tomorrow. How are you spending your Friday and what are your plans for the weekend?

what a concept
I tried something new this weekend. Something so outside the box for me, that it felt strange doing it.
I stayed off the internet. Completely. (okay, I checked email once on Saturday, but other than that, completely off)
If you follow me on Twitter, you know how absolutely tied to the internet I am. It's a sickness. But I decided on Friday night that this weekend was going to be I-Free because I needed to branch out. I needed to step outside my box. I needed a change up.
It's amazing the things I got done.
Do you ever find yourself in a weekend rut? Is there any way you could take a weekend off from status quo?

- I saw both of my kids' soccer games
- Went to a birthday party
- Had afternoon drinks with my girlfriends
- I watched part of the Razorback football game (couldn't stomach the whole thing)
- I cleaned the kitchen
- Did all the boys' laundry
- Plotted out a new scene in current WIP
- Got new tires and front end alignment on the Prelude
- Went to the grocery store
- Made chili
- Made spice cake
- Caught up on my Tivo'd shows
Do you ever find yourself in a weekend rut? Is there any way you could take a weekend off from status quo?
